Abstract
The reaction of Cy(2)GaCl with LiNHR in dielhylether at -78 degrees C produces the dinuclear primary amido bridged complexes [Cy(2)GaNHR](2) (R = Ph (1), (t)Bu (2)) with high yields. The addition of the seconda ry amines telramethylpiperidine (TMPH) and (Pr2NH)-Pr-i to GaCl3 in to luene at -78 degrees C produces the adducts TMPH.GaCl3 (3) and (Pr2NH) -Pr-i.GaCl3 (4) with a yield of more than 80%. Compounds 1-3 were char acterized through single-crystal X-ray diffractometry. The solid state structures of 1 and 2 feature planar Ga2N2 four-membered rings. Inter estingly, compounds 1-3 feature short Ga...H-N distances, which are 2. 113 Angstrom, 2.33 Angstrom and 2.28(9) A for 1, 2 and 3 respectively.
