Abstract
Treatment of [(t)BuP(CH(2)CH(2)CH(2)PPh(2))(2)]MCl (M = Rh, 1, or Ir, 2) with LiC(N-2)SiMe(3) in toluene at -78 degrees C gave the alpha-dia zoalkyl complexes [(t)BuP(CH(2)CH(2)CH(2)PPh(2))(2)]RhC(N-2)SiMe(3), 3 , and [(t)BuP(CH(2)CH(2)CH(2)PPh(2))(2)]IrC(N-2)SiMe(3), 4, as air- an d light-sensitive but thermally stable compounds, which were character ized by IR, H-1 NMR and P-31 NMR spectroscopy. The results of an X-ray structural study of complex 2 are also reported.
