Fw. Koch et al., SHORT-TERM RESULTS (2-5 YEARS) WITH FURLO NG TYPE HYDROXYLAPATITE-COATED TOTAL HIP REPLACEMENTS, Zeitschrift fur Orthopadie und Ihre Grenzgebiete, 131(6), 1993, pp. 562-567
The short term clinical and radiological results of a hydroxyapatite-c
oated hip prosthesis with bonding osteogenesis on the hydroxyapatite c
eramic and bony tissue reaction had to be studied. 233 patients who ha
d hip replacement were followed up for two to five years and assessed
radiologically and by the Merle D'Aubigne rating. Primary total hip ar
throplasty as well as revision arthroplasty show sufficient clinical r
esults. Tight pain and aseptic loosening of the stem did not occur. Hy
droxyapatite-coating and contour for the Furlong hip prosthesis show a
reliable short term anchorage.
