Yi. Matusevich et al., THERMOSTABILIZATION OF RADIATION-CROSS-LINKED POLYETHYLENE BY DIHYDRIC STERICALLY-HINDERED PHENOLS, High energy chemistry, 27(4), 1993, pp. 253-259
Using the methods of differential scanning calorimetry, volumetry, and
IR absorption spectroscopy a comparative study was carried out of the
influence of the addition of mono- and dihydric sterically hindered p
henols on the relaxational transitions, melting and thermooxidation of
polyethylene and a radiation-crosslinked polyethylene, irradiated to
total doses of 5.0.10(4)-1.0.10(6) Gy. It was shown that 3,5-ditert-bu
tylpyrocatechol in a 0.5-1.0% by weight content is the most effective
thermostabilizer for the radiation crosslinked polyethylene.
