The spatial structure of the gas flow and the distribution of products
of plasmochemical processes in a high-power microwave discharge throu
gh a H2S-CO2 mixture have been investigated. The location of the noneq
uilibrium quenching region in the post-discharge zone was determined.
The low energy loss realized in production of the synthesis gas (H-2 CO) is explainable in terms of internal heat recapture in this quench
ing region.
