Abstract
A model for the collision rate of an impurity ion in a plasma is formu lated by extending a corresponding model for velocity and electric fie ld correlation functions. All dynamical effects of the plasma are repr esented by its electric field at the impurity, which is then given a s imple stochastic description. The simplest example allows complete det ermination of the collision rate and solution to the associated kineti c equation.
