T. Narasimhaswamy et al., SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF FUNCTIONALIZED PHENYL ACRYLATE POLYMER SUPPORTS, Die Angewandte makromolekulare Chemie, 213, 1993, pp. 21-32
Various substituted phenyl acrylates (4-nitro (NPA), 4-benzoyl (BPA),
2-carbomethoxy (CPA), 2-formyl (FPA) and 2,4,6-trichloro (TCPA) phenyl
acrylate) were copolymerized with 4 mol-% DVB in aqueous suspension a
t 80-degrees-C. The resulting copolymers were characterized by means o
f FT-IR and high resolution solid state C-13, NMR spectroscopy. The pa
rticle size distribution and average particle size of the typical syst
ems were determined. Scanning electron microscopy provided information
about size, shape and morphological features of the resins. The therm
al stabilities of the resins were determined by thermogravimetric anal
ysis.
