Abstract
Bromodisilane was prepared in high yields from 1-naphthyldisilane or m esityldisilane and gaseous HBr, avoiding the preparation and manipulat ion of disilane. The IR and Raman spectra of BrSi2H5 and BrSi2D5 were recorded and assigned with the aid of normal coordinate analysis.
