Abstract
Poor function of spermatozoa accounts for half of all human infertilit y. Micromanipulation methods within the framework of in vitro fertiliz ation treatment may enhance fertilization of the egg and may allow the establishment of an ongoing pregnancy in cases of severe male inferti lity. This review presents different methods of micromanipulation whic h are routinely applied in male factor infertility and for preimplanta tion diagnosis.
