Abstract
The reactions of 5-arylthianthrenium perchlorates with sodium hydrosul fide hydrate (NaSH.xH(2)O) in aqueous THF at reflux afforded polyarylt hioethers having five sulfur atoms bonded to only ortho positions of e ach aryl group, in good to excellent yields.
