Abstract
Selenoacetals derived from 1,3-propanediselenol and 1,2-ethanediseleno l are much less Hone to be cleaved by butyllithiums than their open ch ain analogues. The stereochemistry of the products resulting from thes e reactions as well as from the cleavage of the C-Se bond under radica l conditions is disclosed.
