Abstract
Airborne volatiles of three chrysanthemum cultivars were collected fro m foliage by headspace extraction and trapping the volatiles on Tenax GC adsorbent, and releasing the trapped volatiles into a GC-MS by heat ing the Tenax trap. Forty three compounds were identified, with 24 bei ng present in Hero, 36 in Purple Anne and 21 in Surfine. The most abun dant compound in all three cultivars was (Z)3-hexen-1-ol acetate. Fift y three per cent of the identified compounds were monoterpenes.
