SYNTHESIS OF ALUMINUM NITRIDE FROM ALUMINUM CITRATE PRECURSOR

Fine and high-purity aluminum nitride powder was prepared from aluminu m citrate precursor. The phase changes during the nitridation process were examined by X-ray diffraction and the morphology of the precursor and AIN powder was observed with SEM. The resulting powder has excell ent sinterability and the sintered AIN samples show high thermal condu ctivity.
