Abstract
The notion of ecological biophysics as a scientific discipline investi gating physical processes and phenomena caused by functioning of the l iving super-organism systems is formulated. The three main constituent s of the ecological biophysics are defined: elaboration of the monitor ing methods of the basis of sensing of the biophysical fields (of biol uminescence and fluorescence), mathematical and physical modeling and investigation of the part of living organisms in the hydrophysical pro cesses of the ecosystem scale. Examples of realization of the ecologic al biophysical approach in the process of investigations of the World Ocean, Lake Baikal, the reservoirs of Dnieper and Yenisei revers are g iven.
