Abstract
The synthesis of myo-inositol 1,4,6-trisphosphate from myo-inositol is described; this novel trisphosphate is a potent Ca2+-mobilising agoni st at the Ins(1,4,5)P3 receptor and is derived from structure-activity considerations of myo-inositol 1,3,4,6-tetrakisphosphate.
