The kinetic approach proposed by Wojciechowski was applied to elucidat
e the network of reactions involved in the alkylation of styrene with
methanol. The selectivities for the individual products of alkylation
were estimated for pentasil-type zeolite (HTsVK-1), modified by 2.5% P
. Primary, secondary, stable, and unstable products were determined. T
he general scheme of reaction pathways for the alkylation of styrene w
ith methanol was elaborated.
