A NEW APPROACH TO GAMETE INTRAFALLOPIAN TRANSFER VIA HYSTEROSCOPY

This study describes the technique and results of a new approach for t he hysteroscopic catheterization of the Fallopian tube in order to tra nsfer gametes (hysteroscopic GIFT). Ovarian stimulation was started on 51 patients. Three cycles were cancelled because of a failure of ovar ian response. Forty-eight patients underwent hysteroscopic GIFT utiliz ing a technique completely different, easier, faster and more precise than that previously reported. Fourteen pregnancies were achieved (29. 2%) of which five are ongoing, six patients have delivered and three h ave aborted. No ectopic pregnancies were observed.
