Abstract
Electroejaculates were collected from chital deer (Axis axis) and froz en in pellets (0.1 ml/pellet) on dry ice after extension with either T riladyl(TM) or a Tris-egg-yolk-citrate extender. The semen was thawed in a 36 degrees C water bath for 1 min and evaluated for percentage sp erm motility and rate of forward progression immediately after thawing and at 2 hr. The Triladyl-extended semen had significantly greater mo tility immediately after thawing, but after incubation the Tris-egg-yo lk-citrate-extended semen showed a significantly higher proportion of motile sperm.
