S. Arpadjan et al., REDUCTIVE COPRECIPITATION AND EXTRACTION AS SEPARATION METHODS FOR THE DETERMINATION OF GOLD IN COPPER CONCENTRATES BY AAS AND ICP-AES, Fresenius' journal of analytical chemistry, 347(12), 1993, pp. 480-482
Simple methods for the determination of gold in copper concentrates ar
e presented. Two separation procedures for gold are proposed. The firs
t preconcentration procedure is based on the reductive coprecipitation
of Au using part of the matrix copper as collector. The second implie
s selective quantitative extraction of Au using the extraction system
0.2 mol/l HCl/IBMK. Flame AAS or ICP-AES are used as instrumental meth
ods and permit the determination of 0.1 - 50 mug/g gold with a relativ
e standard deviation of 3 - 12%.
