Abstract
Bisviologen-linked porphyrin (p-PC4VAC4VB) and bisviologen-linked zinc porphyrin (p-ZnPC4VAC4VB) were synthesized. In these compounds two vi ologens are connected with the porphyrin via a methylene chain (-(CH2) 4-), so as to produce a gradient of redox potential in the molecule. T he photochemical properties of these porphyrins were investigated.
