The trend towards equilibrium of the solution to the one-dimensional K
ac's caricature of a Maxwell gas is investigated. When the initial val
ue has finite energy and finite Linnik's entropy, it is proven that th
e solution converges in L(1boolean AND) L(infinity) to the equilibrium
Maxwellian distribution.
