Abstract
Analytical transient solutions of a straight fin including fin tip hea t transfer are developed using the method of Laplace transforms. The e ffects of neglecting fin tip heat transfer are examined by comparing r esults with available adiabatic tip solutions. The Harper-Brown approx imate method is also explored for transient application.
