Abstract
Thin a-axis oriented YBaCuO films have been deposited in the self-temp late procedure with the deposition temperature in the second step, T-s , as a parameter. At T-s values around 790 degrees C the conditions fo r a- and c-axis growth become similar leading to growth deterioration by a frustration effect. This effect limits the maximum T-s values app licable to ordering of a-axis films. In this series of experiments the a-axis films with negligible c-axis content had T-c-values around 80 K.
