Abstract
Seventy-seven reasonably healthy institutionalized elderly were assess ed for dietary intake. Interindividual variation in nutrient consumpti on was high. Mean intakes of iron, protein, calcium and folacin were a bove 66% of the Canadian RNIs for both sexes. Mean zinc intakes were 5 9% and 53% of the RNI's for females and males respectively. Mean energ y intakes were recorded at 74% of the RNI yet anthropometric measureme nts suggest an adequate body size in the overall group.
