Abstract
Sixty-three noninstitutionalized healthy elderly were assessed for die tary intake by 24 hour recalls. Intakes of iron, protein, folacin, and calcium were all above 66% of the Recommended Nutrient Intake (RNI) f or both male and female groups. Although zinc intakes by women average d 82.6% of the RNI, the overall zinc consumption by men was 62.4% of t he RNI. Caloric consumption by both groups was less than the recommend ed at 82% and 78% of the RNI for females and males respectively. Anthr opometric data suggested an appropriate body size for both sexes.
