Abstract
The technical parameters of the multibeam towed sonar disigned for bot tom backscattering characteristics measurements and also some results of the research made with this sonar during the 5th expedition of r/v ''Akademik Ioffe'' over Mid-Atlantic and Oceanografer ridges transform intersection are described. The materials obtained were compared with the published data.
