Abstract
In this letter we derive analytic results for the timing jitter in gai n-switched semiconductor lasers driven with electrical pulse shapes co mmonly used in practice. The analytic results allow us to identify las er parameters as well as electrical bias and pulse conditions which af fect timing jitter. These results are in good agreement with experimen tal observations.
