Is. Sadek et al., NONPROBABILISTIC MODELING OF DYNAMICALLY LOADED BEAMS UNDER UNCERTAINEXCITATIONS, Mathematical and computer modelling, 18(11), 1993, pp. 59-67
A nonprobabilistic model for a dynamically loaded beam is developed, w
hen the forcing function and the initial conditions may contain uncert
ain components. Uncertainty in these functions is required to be bound
ed in the L2 norm and expressed using a finite number of eigenmodes. T
he specific expressions are determined for the dynamic loads which yie
ld the least favorable deflection. Numerical examples are given to ill
ustrate the solution procedure and to assess the effect of various pro
blem parameters.
