Abstract
Alcohol of different strengths 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 and 100 per cent v/v were utilized for the preparation of tincture of rhizome of N elumbo nucifera by maceration process for 7, 14 and 21 days. Fifty per cent alcohol, after 21 days of maceration produced maximum total soli d content of 21.97 per cent and showed pH 5.0.
