Abstract
Since newsprint manufacturers are now faced with the obligation of usi ng recycled fibres due to economic and ecological pressures, the effec t of de-inked furnish on paper machine operation has become a concern. This paper is an overview of changes in the properties of recycled fi bre and potential modifications to improve runnability and paper quali ty.
