Abstract
This paper presents a year of data on certain persistent organic pollu tants and heavy metals in the atmosphere over a St.Lawrence River vall ey site (Villeroy) in 1992. These results are compared with other site s in North America: most of the concentration levels found here are ch aracteristic of a rural site. The specific behaviours of certain speci es are presented and discussed with regard to physical and chemical la ws as well as with the potential source and transport in the atmospher ic compartment of the environment.
