Abstract
The Rydberg-Klein-Rees potential curve of the 3(1) Pi(g), state which covers the internuclear distance from 3.59926 to 6.76571 Angstrom is c onstructed from the experimentally determined B-nu and G(nu) values. T he predicted exotic shape (change in slope outside similar to 5.7 Angs trom) agrees with the experimental results. The dissociation energy of this state which dissociates to the K(4s) + K(5p) atomic asymptotic l imit is determined to be 2731.292 +/- 0.085 cm(-1). (C) 1997 Academic Press.
