Abstract
A simple, electrothermal atomizer with a the tungsten-coil was used fo r simultaneous determination of Cd and Pb in natural water samples. Th e construction of the low-voltage metal coil atomizer and the influenc e of applied power, gas flow rate as well as other experimental condit ions on the signal parameters were described in detail. The atomizatio n behaviour of Cd and Pb in the presence of different matrices was als o studied. Under optimal operating conditions the characteristic masse s calculated from the peak-area (for 0.0044 A s), for Cd and Pb, were 0.8 and 1.8 pg respectively.
