Abstract
Fungi must grow into the air for reproduction and spore dispersal, and to do this their hyphae contain morphogenetic proteins that respond P o the aerial environment. The recent discovery of 'repellent' proteins , however, suggests fungi have more than one mechanism for aerial deve lopment.
