B. Collet et al., URINARY-TRACT INFECTION IN AMBULATORY PRA CTICE - DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT SURVEY .2. USUAL PRACTICE OF URINARY CYTOBACTERIOLOGICAL INVESTIGATIONS, Medecine et maladies infectieuses, 26(10), 1996, pp. 817-821
The frequency of urinary cytobacteriological investigations lead to ca
rrying out a survey in the Rhone-Alpes area, which processed 1,283 rep
orts of ambulatory tests, The lack of important biological parameters
(such as quantitative cytology, gram stains, germs counts) could lead
to difficulty in diagnosing urinary infections. So the efficiency of d
iagnoses in these investigations was low. Bacterial flora stayed relat
ively stable, but on the other hand, response to antibiotics underwent
notable changes requiring more attention.
