N. Coudray et al., CHANGE IN LEFT-VENTRICULAR DIASTOLIC FUNC TION IN PRIMARY PHOSPHOLIPID SYNDROME, La Revue de medecine interne, 14(10), 1993, pp. 938-938
Previous studies have shown that left ventricular (LV) diastolic funct
ion is frequently impaired in patients with systemic lupus erythematos
us. We prospectively studied echo-Doppler indices of LV diastolic func
tion in 18 patients with primary antiphospholipid syndrome (PAPS), who
where compared to a group of 18 healthy controls. Heretofore undescri
bed LV relaxation abnormalities were found in the PAPS group : this fi
nding suggests the existence of a causal link.
