Abstract
We evaluated a simple, cheap and non-invasive diagnostic test for xero stomia : the ''RCS (salivary cotton roll) - test''. We studied 33 pati ents suffering from xerostomia and 33 asymptomatic patients. The RCS-t est was compared to salivary scintigraphy. Our results show that the R CS-test can easily be performed and is useful in detecting sicca syndr ome or in diagnosing Sjogren's syndrome.
