Abstract
A patient with a congenital oesophageal cyst and heterotopic pancreati c tissue adjacent to the cyst is presented. This finding supports the embryogenic hypothesis presented by Lewis and Thyng, according to whic h congenital oesophageal cysts develop from persisting small diverticu la of the foregut, which often contain heterotopic pancreatic tissue.
