Cl. Tunget et al., EVALUATION OF DILEARN - AN INTERACTIVE COMPUTER-ASSISTED-LEARNING PROGRAM FOR DRUG INFORMATION, American journal of pharmaceutical education, 57(4), 1993, pp. 340-343
An interactive computer-assisted learning program was developed for th
e purpose of teaching the basic skills required to provide drug inform
ation. The program was evaluated using a pretest/posttest control grou
p design. Fifty-three Doctor of Pharmacy students enrolled in a drug i
nformation class were randomized to either the computer program or tra
ditional didactic lectures. A satisfaction survey of the computerized
program was also conducted. No statistical differences were found betw
een the groups for either pretest or posttest scores. The overall sati
sfaction of the computer-assisted learning module was favorable. The r
esults of this study indicate that this computer-assisted learning mod
ule is as effective as traditional class room instruction in teaching
basic drug information skills.
