The authors report an exceedingly rare complication of rheumatoid arth
ritis, i.e. acquired hemophilia due to anti-factor VIII autoantibody p
roduction. Treatment with intravenous immune globulin ensured control
of hemorrhagic manifestations by inducing a transient rise in factor V
III level.
