Abstract
The optimum conditions for formation of Er(III)-3,5-diCIDMPAP in micel les of TX-100 are described. The molar absorptivity was 1.39x10(5) 1 m ol(-1) cm(-1). The absorption spectroscopy of the surfactant-sensitize d complex has been examined in detail in order to set up the influence of various experimental parameters. The procedure has been successful ly applied to the determination of Er(III) in superconducting material s and permanent magnets.
