Abstract
Heterogeneous model catalysts are simplified versions of their complex industrial counterparts. In spite of the differences between real and model catalysts, data obtained on the latter have proved very useful for the understanding of the structure and reactivity of catalysts use d in practice. Thus, it is permitted to expect that model catalysts wi ll also be of assistance in the design of new or improved industrial c atalysts.
