Jw. Lee et al., THERMODYNAMIC PERTURBATION-THEORY OF CHARGED HARD-SPHERES IN A UNIFORM NEUTRALIZING BACKGROUND, Chemical physics, 178(1-3), 1993, pp. 105-112
Thermodynamic quantities such as the excess Helmholtz free energy, exc
ess internal energy, and compressibility factor of charged hard sphere
s are calculated from the hard-sphere perturbation theory and the opti
mized hard-sphere model which we have recently developed. The optimize
d hard-sphere model gives thermodynamic properties in excellent agreem
ent with Monte Carlo results. We compute the radial distribution funct
ion and structure factor at several values of the Coulomb coupling con
stant and the hard-sphere packing fraction. Our results predict the ra
dial distribution function and the structure factor in reasonable agre
ement with Monte Carlo results.
