A C-60 modified carbon paste electrode(MCPE) was prepared and its elec
trochemical properties in tetrabutylammonium hydroxide/CH3CN/H2O solut
ions were studied. Two pairs of mono-electron quasi-reversible redox p
eaks were obtained and characterized. The experimental results reveale
d that this electrode had a good electrocatalytic reduction response f
or nitrobenzene in these conditions. The catalytic reduction current h
ad a good linear relationship to the concentration of nitrobenzene. Th
e linear range of nitrobenzene concentration was between 5.0x10(-5)sim
ilar to 6.0x10(-3) mol/L. The detection limit was 3.0x10(-5) mol/L.
