Abstract
Partition coefficients have been introduced to the finite element two- dimensional dye diffusion thermal transfer model. The model now explai ns some of the experimental data that were not consistent with the pre vious model, which excluded partition coefficients. In dye diffusion t hermal transfer printing, not only dye diffusion, but also the effect of the partition coefficients, dominate the process.
