C. Marguet et al., ROLE OF RESPIRATORY SYNCYTIAL VIRUS IN SI DS - EPIDEMIOLOGIC COMPARATIVE-STUDY OF BRONCHIOLITIS AND SIDS (1988 - 1992) IN THE ROUEN AREA, Medecine et maladies infectieuses, 23, 1993, pp. 865-869
Sudden infant death syndrome is the first cause of mortality between 1
-12 months. Since many years, association of respiratory virus infecti
ons, especially RSV, and SIDS have been suspected. During 1988-1992 pe
riod, we have found a strong relation between bronchiolitis (n = 939)
and SIDS (n = 149). However, it is not more true with RSV infections.
We conclude that one of main aim of research is not only RSV but all r
espiratory viruses studies.
