Abstract
An investigation of the signal, noise and signal-to-noise transfer pro perties of a Fuji 7000 series computed radiography (CR) system using t hird-generation storage plate technology has been undertaken. The resu lts show a significant improvement in signal-to-noise performance of t he system compared to an earlier generation of CR technology. Results of the CR evaluation compare favourably to those obtained from a selec tion of rare-earth screen-film systems evaluated under identical expos ure conditions. These results were further substantiated by results fr om threshold contrast-detail detectability tests.
