Vs. Yarochkin et al., EFFICACY OF OXYGEN DELIVERY TO TISSUES UN DER COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OFBLOOD FOR BOVINE POLYHEMOGLOBIN, Gematologia i transfuziologia, 38(6), 1993, pp. 15-18
The study has been performed to test the hypothesis on feasibility of
omitting pyridoxylation in production of bovine polyhemoglobin as comp
ared to polyhemoglobin from human red cells. The model of a complete r
eplacement of rabbit blood for polyglucin (Het almost-equal-to 2%) was
used to compare efficacy characteristics for O2 delivery to tissues u
pon introduction of bovine polyhemoglobin against rabbit red cells. Im
mediately after the replacement, O2 release efficacy and that of circu
lation were identical, whereas 30 and 60 min after it, developing deco
mpensation of hemodynamics indicated inability of bovine heterohemoglo
bin, unlike own red cells, to increase A-B difference by oxygen, proba
bly due to metform rise.
