On. Mytyakina et al., DIURNAL TIMING OF OVIPOSITION OF EDOVUM-P UTTLERI (HYMENOPTERA, EULOPHIDAE), AN EGG PARASITE OF COLORADO POTATO BEETLE, Zoologiceskij zurnal, 72(12), 1993, pp. 71-76
Diurnal timing of oviposition of Edovum puttleri was studied in the la
boratory (LD 17 : 7, t = 24-25). E. puttlery appears to escape oviposi
tion during the dark phase (in the <<night>>) and just after beginning
of the light phase (in the <<morning>>). The parasite prefers to infe
st the eggs of Colorado potato beetle in the afternoons and in the eve
nings. These results may be useful for mass rearing of E. puttleri.
