Physes lesions of radius and ulna are frequent in the dog. They genera
ly involve trauma (the most frequent) or general disease (chondrodystr
ophy). They induce deformities of the radius and ulna (varus, radius,
curvus...) and frequently elbow subluxation due to shortening of radiu
s or ulna. The incongruency of the joint is painful and results in ost
eoarthritis which is particularly worrying according to the young age
of the dogs. Surgical treatment must be performed as soon as possible
and aims to restore elbow joint congruency either by shortening or len
gthening one of the two bones of the antebrachium.
